Limit Switch
Another name: limit key
A limit switch is an electrical device that starts to operate using mechanical parts or the presence of a substance or object. Detection of presence in general is such that by detecting the presence or absence of a material or object, the detecting device turns off or on the switch. After detection, the sensor sends a signal to disconnect or connect to the control devices. Similarly, the limit switch is also a mechanical device to detect the presence or absence of an object in temporal dimensions. When the presence of a target object or device contacts the user of the switch, it will move the actuator to the range where the electrical state change occurs. Based on this status change, they are normally open or closed.
The limit switch has many advantages. Among the advantages of using limit switches is that they are used in all industries, they are very accurate and reliable in diagnosis, they consume very little electrical energy, and they can control several functions at the same time.
The disadvantages of limit switches are that they are usually used for cases where the fluid speed is low, they must be directly related to the target or object, and that the mechanical equipment is constantly moving and has a relatively short useful life.
