What are instrument fittings?

Instrument fittings are a special type of fittings that are used with special design and special construction materials to transfer fluids and ultra-pure gases and distribute these fluids and gases in instrument equipment and laboratory systems. The important thing about instrumentation fittings is that, unlike conventional fittings, instrumentation fittings are clamped onto tubes. The difference between tube and pipe in terms of connections is that the tube is never threaded due to the thin wall thickness and it is not possible to connect the usual tube connections to the tubes with screws. So the tube needs its own instrumentation fittings.

Among the instrument fittings, the most used are the pressure instrument fittings. This type of instrument connection uses a ring or fastener to connect the tubes to each other or to different equipment. Pressure instrumentation connections consist of three main parts, which are body, ring or fastener and nut. Some types of pressure instrumentation fittings use two rings or clamps for better sealing. If the fittings of the instrument are used to connect the tube and pipe in a rib-like manner, it is called a connector connection. If instrumentation fittings are used to connect the tube to the tube, it will be referred to as a union joint.
