DCS (distributed control system) is a dedicated control system that related control equipment is located in different places of production or process units. It differs from many similar systems such as PLC in that in DCS (distributed control system), different parts are not integrated and are installed in different parts, and that is why it is called distributed. In DCS (distributed control system), each part is monitored and controlled by its own controller equipment. These different control parts are connected by industrial communication networks.
In the DCS control system (distributed control system), data collection and equipment control are controlled by control units with microprocessors, each of which is located near the product to be controlled. These separate control equipments can communicate with each other or other control equipments such as monitoring terminals, operator terminals, etc.
